1963 Dodge Polara 500

September 2004 Mopar of the Month

Bill writes:  My father and I built this 1963 Dodge Polara 500 together. 1963 Dodge Polara 500 front

The motor is equipped with all the goods, such as Ross pistons,
Eagle rods, Ultradyne roller cam, Holley 950 cfm, Crane roller rockers,
and Mildon oil pan, just to name a few.

The Polara 500 has an 8 3/4 with 4:30 gears stuffed in a 742 case.

When we first got the car the floor was totally rusted out, so we picked up a 1964 4-door Fury donor car with a prefect floor. After several hours of drilling spot welds we removed the whole floor and welded it into the Polara.

Other than that, just the normal restoration, such as replacing fuel lines, brake lines, brakes, master cylinder, and new front end parts.

We do drive this beauty on the street and so far no tickets. ha ha

I personally love scaring those Chevy, Ford, and import boys. Too bad my father has the car up for sale.

I would also like to thank you for putting together such a great Web site. No car is better than a '62-'65 Mopar.

Great ride, Bill!

Good job with the Father - Son project of building the Dodge!

By the way, where's your bride in the wedding burnout photo? Or are you in a hurry to honeymoon?  smile!
