My Fish has a 273 V8,
auto trans, Holley 4 barrel,

and 8 3/4 rear w/3.23 gears.

1965 Plymouth Barracuda trans rebuild The car is a work in progress.

I rebuilt the transmission and front end,
replaced the fuel tank and all fuel
components, installed new rear springs
and shocks on all four corners.
All the brake hydraulic components
(including the lines) are new.

(NAPA still has many parts for these cars).

Next I will start on the interior and the body.

Thanks for the great Web site! It has been a tremendous source for information and inspiration.

Sincerely, Bill.

Update November 2003

1965 Plymouth Barracuda engine I cleaned and painted the engine
and engine bay and re-installed the
engine. I cleaned the headers
and treated them with a product
called Os-Pho purchased from the
local Sherwin Williams store.

Then I coated the headers with
an Eastwood product. So far they
have held up well.

I used a lower quarter

Layson's Restorations
and then repaired the
other holes with sheet metal.

The pictures below show before and after cutting the outside.
I also had to cut back the inner piece of metal that attached
to the trunk floor and the bottom of the lower outside panel,
then I had to make up a new piece of metal to replace it.

Thanks Bill!

Your Barracuda looks fantastic as is!

Good job on the restoration work.

As you know, restorations are never really "done", but we look forward to the "finished" Fish pictures.
