1965 Dodge Coronet

1965 Dodge Coronet J. L. writes: I love this Web site.

I have been driving Mopars since I was 16....well...even before that because my folks had a 1952 Cranbrook and a 1955 Savoy....which I drove on occasion.

I lived on a farm in Illinois so driving was sometimes a necessity instead of a privilege.

I've owned the red 1965 Dodge Coronet since 1985. I saw the Mopar in 1978 in Fredericksburg, Texas while on vacation. I saw the same car in the weeds on a car lot and paid $700.00 for it. I aired up a tire and drove it home.

The Dodge has the original 330 HP 383. I rebuilt the engine in the mid 1980's. I have added a newer lever type TorqueFlight, Hurst shifter, transmission cooler etc. I also have painted the Coronet red.

'57 Belvedere before resto. 318 poly with 3 speed overdrive trans 1957 Belvedere flathead 6 three speed manual that I put a Hurst Mystery Shifter in. It was my first car, bought in 1965.

Thanks J.L.!

Quite the Mopar man!

Lot's of good memories -- plus you still get to have fun in your '65!  smile!
