Richard Leff Memorial Comments
Comments in memorial to Richard Leff, proud owner of a 413 Max Wedge powered 1962 Dart:
Ms Mopar (McKenzie) [MML] "Richard was at the Fall and Spring Fling 2000 and 2001...He had a great personality and was always joking and kidding around. He will be missed. Richard, we will all meet up someday at the big Mopar Show in the
Sky. Love you, Richard" Ms. Mopar (McKenzie) Ms68mopar1ATaol.com
"I am very sorry to hear about Richard's passing. His passion for life, family and Mopar I will never forget. Richard helped my son when he was rebuilding a 413 for me as a birthday present. I spoke to him several times and he would never admit to it. I guess he wanted the 'new kid' to get the credit. What a guy." Kurt Baker DoobieKPBATaol.com
"Richard was a hot ticket....God bless you Richard, I wish we met in person."

"I never got to meet Richard, but I remember reading his e-mails and you could tell he had great pride in his car. His car always seemed to win another event. I'm sure he's talkin' to someone about it in a better place." Gary Futrell gary-futrellATsbcglobal.net
"Richard and I have been hanging out together at Spring Fling for the past 3 years. He was a fun guy, and had built an
outstanding car. He was very proud of it. He always brought me a cigar for both days, and we would each enjoy a cigar and the cars together. Because bringing a car all the way from Salt Lake is a pain, we would do the cruzing together, and he even let me drive his car a few times. Boy was I nervous, you would hate to have something happen when your driving a very nice car like his.
Spring Fling will not be the same without Richard. I will however bring a couple of cigars for each day. I will also find a
nice quiet corner by myself on the morning of the first day to light it. I will reflect on the great times we had, and I know Richard will be looking on for the traditional lighting of the Spring Fling cigar. So when you see me with the cigar in my mouth, no I am not trying to be Dick Landy, just remembering an old friend and keeping the tradition alive. Richard will be missed. He was truly an 'Officer and a Gentleman'." Earl Helm earlhATgoengineer.com

"I'm truly saddened upon learning of Richard's passing. Although I never met him face to face, over the past couple of years we chatted via instant message several times. It's easy to see that Richard made an impression on everyone on this list and I'm sure everyone else he met. Mine and my families thoughts and prayers go out to Judy Leff and to the rest of Richard's family." Mike P. Mrph92162ATaol.com

"Although I didn't know Richard personally, I have had a few conversations with him via Instant Message in the past. My condolences and prayers to his family and maybe he can hook up with some of the old Mopar racers of the 60's up there and talk Mopar racing. God bless!" Bill C. WC43613ATaol.com
"To the loved ones and family of Richard Leff, I am saddened and sorry to hear of your loss.
I knew Richard from the two email lists that he frequented: The '62-'65 Mopars and the MML. I also had some parts dealings with him for his beloved '62 Dart. As a fellow '62 Plymouth owner, we had something in common. I really enjoyed reading Richard's posts when he would tell us about his racing victories or trophy achievements. His passion for the hobby was most evident. Godspeed, Richard.
He will be fondly remembered.
Sincerely, Scott Powell" -=- Grafton, ON, Canada skpowellATsympatico.ca
"I was stunned today, to open my email and rear about Richard. Back in June of 2003 the company I work for offered to me a relocation to Calif. I live in Michigan, never been to California. I posted here on this site for someone out that way, to offer up some info as to what to expect if I took this move. Richard responded with emails and his cell number, as he was at a car show that day. I called him, and instantly felt like I had a new found friend. He offered me tons of insight, and also offered for my
wife and I to stop by his place if we came out for a look see prior to making our minds up on the move. We didn't take the job offer after all but I really wanted to meet Richard and his wife, and thought maybe we would make it out that way this year, maybe the Las Vegas show. Now its too late. Just another reminder of how short life really is, don't wait until tomorrow to do what you need to do now. My prayers go out to Richards family." Garry Penn buildin64ATyahoo.com
"I am sad to hear of Richard's passing.
I met him at the Garden Grove car show with his beloved 'Mighty Max Wedge.' He said he worked at Lion's during the Mopar years and always wanted a '62. His car is absolutely gorgeous which is why it is such a trophy winner.
Even though it was his baby, he let my 8 year old son get behind the wheel. I think he liked to see smiles as much as he liked wearing one...
He will be missed." Jamie 'Goat Cheese' goat_cheeserAThotmail.com

"I e-mailed Richard to ask if he were willing to talk on the phone with me about restoring my 1962 Dodge. He quickly replied that he was very willing to do so and to call him anytime.
