1962 Plymouth Sport Fury drag race car, Starvation Phil Andre, shown in the closeup photo,
raced the Mopar at Firebird Raceway, in Boise
Idaho, from 1969 to 1975. The Sport Fury ran
SS/HA class, with a 440, single carburetor, and
5.13 gears in the superstock spring suspended 8 3/4

I bought the Plymouth in 1975, put street tires on it and closed the exhaust, put 4.10 gears in it, did some valve adjustments for street use, and drove it to high school, graphics, and all.

The full-race Torqueflight lasted about six months on the street, and I sold the car back to Phil.

Since then the Plymouth went to California, was raced for years, and then somehow turned up on the east coast.

Thanks Paul!

Quite a fun ride to and from High School! smile!
