My 1962 Dodge Dart was my great grandmother's car. It was given to me when I was 16 and I hated it. Even though my Dad fixed it up just the way I wanted it. Very uncool for a Los Angeles teenager!
My dad decided to sell it when I was 17. I was doing too much driving, and my brother was 4 years away from needing a car.
The minute the car drove around the block, my brother and I knew we had made a mistake by letting it go.
Eight years ago, we decided to find the Dodge and buy it back!
We succeeded, and had dreams of bringing it back to its original glory. The Dodge sat in front of my parent's house, then my brother's house, just waiting for some TLC. About April 2004, I called my brother and said I was going to take money out of my savings, sell my Yukon, and restore the Dart and make it my daily driver.
The Dart's been through the mechanic (Tyerman's in Burbank, CA). They have taken everything out and are refurbishing it to OEM specs, but with safety upgrades/daily driving in mind. Those guys are incredible!

The body work and paint is being done to go back to the original style it was when Grama Fannie bought it. No upgrades, nothing fancy. OEM style!
