Works in Progress

I'm just starting my third year on my Mopar project. I'm cloning a 1964 Dodge crossram race Hemi which will be an altered wheelbase car.

Well, after research on the subject I found that there were many different interpretations of the first altered wheelbase Mopar. I ended up following the Ramchargers beginning. I have their tape. My front end is forward between 3 inches to 4 inches, K-frame is in place. Undercarriage is tied and tubbed with welding and mounting to receive S/S springs. I still would like to here comments on the proper rear end forward installation. I'm set up to move 4 inches forward. I'd like to hear from anyone on their method.

Anyway my car was a 1964 Dodge Polara 500 2-door hardtop, built in California Vin # 6445127739. The car had no rust except some on the bottom edge of front and rear glass. I had the undercarriage, engine compartment, interior and trunk sandblasted. The undercarriage was great and the wheelwells look brand new, showing spot weld tips.

The Dodge is sitting in eurathane primer waiting for her final touch up. The bottom has two coats of POR-15, the latter being gloss. My painter is lined up for mid March.

I'm trying to make the Dodge look like a 330 hardtop, but with the three tailights on each side like Dick Landy's, of course without the Polara trim. My 727 tranny was built with a guarantee. Rear end is a new 410 Dana built racing and street. Going with 4-way disc brakes and TTI coated and polished headers 2-1/8 inch and complete with dual 3 inch exhaust. I had a 1968 block, but traded for the new Hemi block and decided to build an awesome engine. The engine is being built by Larry Shepard.
Thanks Mark! Great project! Look forward to the updates and pictures! smile!
