My 1964 Belvedere 4 door is a 55,000 mile car,
having one repaint.

the Magnum 500's, and will be building a 318 Poly
this winter for the Mopar.

The Belvedere will be fun to have a 4 door that will give most rice burners a run for the money.

Update July 2006

Finally I had enough time off from work to install my rebuilt Poly 318 in my Belvedere. All machining and assembly was performed by Magnum Machine in Chesapeake, Va.

Kurt and his crew did a fine job assembling the Poly. Gary Pavlovich had a cam ground and supplied the rebuilt rocker arms. The P-600 and carbs were purchased from a fellow Mail List member. TTI headers were purchased along with a complete TTI 2 1/2 inch exhaust system. There, I think I have given everyone a plug.

Over the July 4th weekend, my good friend Bob Green and I pulled the old 318, pressure washed the engine compartment, changed the tranny front seal and torque converter, and installed the new Super Poly.

We ran into a few glitches, all my fault. We had installed the engine, and started bolting it up when we discovered that the stock flex plate would not bolt up to the new torque converter. Luckily Ed Miller, a long time Mopar fanatic, lives nearby and came to the rescue with the correct piece.

With the correct flex plate in place, we started to install the engine, again. That’s when the second glitch showed up. I had forgotten to order new motor mounts! Luckily Advance Auto was able to order some, and they came in the next day.

The rest of the installation went fairly well. All that is left to do is wire up the electronic ignition, install the exhaust, and put the hood back on. Hopefully next weekend we will finish and fire it up!
Thanks, Bob!

Very cool, stealth four door.   smile!
