1964 Plymouth Savoy

Works in Progress

Bob writes: My latest project car is in the early stages,
as I have just pulled it into the garage a week ago.

It is a plain jane 1964 Plymouth Savoy.

The Plymouth is a 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree, with an 8 3/4 rear. The \6 motor is rebuilt and runs.
I drove the Mopar out of the barn and paid only 500 bucks for it.
I have a 440 that will be installed over the winter. I got the v8 k frame with the deal.

If it isn't too big a task I'm considering moving the rear springs in, a common procedure to some, it will be a first for me.
I'm also installing roll bar, frame connectors and front disk brakes.

I am building this on a shoe string so I will be doing a lot of shopping to stay in my budget of $5000 or less. I have found Mopar projects to be expensive compared to others, and it is good to save a buck when you can. Now if I can only find a chrome supplier that won't take me to the cleaners!

Good barn catch, Bob!

These sedans are getting very hard to find!

Part of the challenge with Mopars is keeping the price of the restoration down. As you know, some of the prices are high compared to other cookie cutter brands.

But that's part of the restoration challenge!  smile!
