1964 Dodge Polara 500

Works in Progress

1964 Dodge Polara 500, driver side Andy writes from Alaska:

I found this car sitting in a
guy's yard on Kodiak
Island, Alaska.
1964 Dodge Polara 500, front unassembled

Yup, Kodiak, Alaska.

He sold the Mopar to me for 500 bucks. All original, 318 Poly, dual exhaust, SureGrip rear end, center console shifter. Car didn't run. Body was very solid (found out later it was originally a Seattle, WA car) except along the cowl where it was pretty much completely rusted out.

Brought the car home and have been wrenching on it each day, a little bit at a time.

The engine should be running in 1-2 weeks. Once I move back to the lower-48 I'll be really getting to work on it - body, engine, tranny - the works!

I love Mopar stuff, used to be a GM kinda guy but realized my mistake, and corrected it!

Thanks for this great Web site!

Update March 2005

Editor's note: The Polara 500 turned out to have a LOT of rust in the cowl and Andy was headed back to the lower 48. So the Dodge was parted out by Andy. If you need 1964 Dodge Polara 500 parts contact him. As of March 2005 he had some parts, including two nice fenders, for sale.

Thanks, Andy!

With a Polara 500 as pretty as yours, how could you NOT love Mopar stuff!

Re: Update: perhaps someday you'll find another '64 Polara 500 that is restored and rust free.   smile!
