1963 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible

1963 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible, front Robert writes: My 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible has a long family history.

Back in 1963, my dad ordered this car from the Plymouth dealer he worked at in Jellico TN. My mother also worked at the dealership and after a few years, the got married. They had this car before me. This Mopar was our main car for years. My mom drove my sister and I to school and all the other places that great moms take their kids.

My dad sold the Plymouth to his grandfather for a few months but traded a 1963 Chrysler Imperial to get the Plymouth back. My dad drove it to work most of the time. I received it in 1982.

The Plymouth has a 20 year old paint and interior job but the drive line is done. My plans are to install a new Legendary interior and repaint the car.

When its hot outside, I have to use a bottle of 104 octane boost because the compression ratio is close to the limit with the cam combination. The motor has about 195 psi cranking compression for a good idle and plenty of zip!

I am 42 now a I cant see parting with this Plymouth, ever.

Thanks Robert!

The sharp Sport Fury is certainly a keeper!   smile!
