In my never ending hunt for early B body Mopars I drug home this 1962 4 door Plymouth Fury out of CT.
The Mopar has been used for bracket racing for many years, has a roll bar, frame connectors installed already, late style 8 and 3/4, but everything else is stock, including the pushbutton tranny. I thought the Fury would be a good donor for my '62 'vert, but alas, she is so clean and solid that I sold my '72 Cuda 340/4 speed project to freshen up and race this classic; (dig the 4 door sleeper look!). Anyhow, even though the engine and trans was robbed, it is for a good cause, as it is now in my buddy's 1963 Polara wagon. I just bought a nice running '69 440HP for this car. The Fury is solid as a rock, nicest floor pans I've seen in a long time, but they are stayin' put! I don't believe a 4 door should always have to give it up for a 2 door resto. p.s., the tunnel had to be notched to fit the trans blanket. |
