1965 Dodge Coronet Convertible

Works in Progress

Vince writes: Here’s the quick skinny on
(what is left of) the 1965 Dodge Coronet
convertible that I just dragged home:

It’s pretty bad. Probably useless for
anything but cutting up!

BUT! Since it’s already topless and rotted so badly, I’m going to use
it for building an AWB on a diet, like the topless Melrose Missile,
or the Headhunter Plymouth of Ray Capps.

You see, I’m a hardcore 60’s drag racing nut. I mainly dig gassers and AWBs. I enjoy them all. The class legal cars are cool, but I especially enjoy the match racers that were all about putting on a good show.

It will be some time before I can actually get to doing anything with it, as I have other stuff in line ahead of the Coronet.

By the way, the Coronet body isn’t welded or bolted to the 4wd frame, or at least not anymore.

Of course, all the 4WD stuff will go.

At least it’s a Power Wagon chassis and all in the Mopar family!

Thanks Vince!

That is a LOT of work, BUT a fantastic project!

Thanks for saving another Mopar!   smile!
