1963 Plymouth Savoy

Works in Progress

1963 Plymouth, front Bo writes:  Well, another child needing help.

I found this little jewel in Dayton Ohio, thanks to Doug Sloan. Negotiated a deal on a Sunday, overnighted the owner a check Monday; the check arrived at 10:21 A.M. Tuesday and I had a truck at this dude’s house at 2:30 P.M. I had to rent a Jerr Dan to get it on the semi. And it arrived at our shop in Chandler on Thursday afternoon.

1963 Plymouth meets significant other I hid the Mopar in my trailer for awhile then I broke it to Chrissy.
You can see the excitement in her eyes.
(She is not real proud of her star boy right now.)

You Ohio racers may remember the car at Kil Kare,
but it was called Death Wish.
A guy by the name of Bob Beisel raced it.

1963 Plymouth driver side The Plymouth was originally a police car.
Bob and Doug Sloan each bought one in
1967 from a city auction.

Beisel made his a race car. The cat died in 1985 or there abouts, about the time
I started racing the ole’ Rod Shop Challenger, and this other dude bought the Mopar
from his estate, but really never raced it.

That fellow was going to make a street car out of the car.
He removed the automatic trans and put a 4 speed in,
but the car has not run in about 18 to 20 years.

1963 Plymouth meets other Mopars in shop My shop is about out of work, so why not. Being that it is not safe to go in house, I will need something to take up the time.

The plan is to take in TYRC and have the thing re-caged and update the front and rear suspension, add 16 inch rubber and new wheels and drop that 500 inch motor in there with a Max Wedge intake and re-paint the car.

1963 Plymouth rear view I hope to have the Plymouth done by 2007 Mopars at the Strip.

Well, gotta go, Chris asked me to take her to the store so she could buy a gun and some anti-depressants and four 50 pound bags of lime. She also wanted my pin number for my ATM card, not sure why. Oh well....
Thanks Bo!

Great find!  smile!
